The Mart Heinen Softball Complex was completed in the spring of 2005. Donations from local businesses, alumni and parents and a fund-raising campaign helped cover the cost of the $200,000 complex, with Quincy University's Mart Heinen Athletic Booster Club playing a major role.
With the completion of the field, it gave the Lady Hawks softball team their first home field since the start of the program in 1979, when games were played on the intramural field on Quincy University's campus. The Mart Heinen Softball Complex includes dugouts for both teams, a press box, consession stand and bleachers for the fans.
The complex also included the clearing of over an acre of land to provide room for new practice fields for the soccer and football teams.
